AI Solutions

Solutions:

Developed a cloud-native, AWS-based platform (SUM) to consolidate health data from multiple departments. Integrated clustering-based machine learning models for pattern detection and trend analysis, enabling real-time insights and coordinated pandemic response.

Result:

  • Adopted by over 50 key stakeholders across departments
  • Extended platform capabilities to monitor other infectious diseases
  • Became the central data infrastructure for health crisis management

Europe

Introduction

During the Covid-19 pandemic, governments worldwide faced the challenge of coordinating rapid, data-driven responses to an evolving crisis. Disparate data sources, slow reporting cycles, and siloed departments created barriers to effective decision-making. This case study outlines how our team developed an AWS-based data collaboration platform that unified critical health data, empowered real-time analytics, and strengthened public health crisis management.

Problem

The lack of an integrated data infrastructure hindered the ability to track infection rates, allocate resources, and identify hotspots quickly. Decision-makers were working with outdated or incomplete data, impacting the speed and accuracy of public health interventions. The government needed a scalable, secure, and AI-ready system capable of aggregating data from multiple departments and delivering actionable insights in real time.

Solution

We built the SUM platform with:

  • 1. Cloud-Native Architecture: Developed on AWS for scalability, resilience, and security.
  • 2. Unified Data Ingestion: Aggregated data from hospitals, labs, and government departments into a single repository.
  • 3. Clustering-Based ML Models: Implemented AI algorithms to detect infection patterns, cluster outbreak zones, and forecast trends.
  • 4. Role-Based Access Control: Ensured data privacy while enabling multi-department collaboration.
  • 5. Scalable Expansion: Designed the platform to handle other infectious disease data post-pandemic.

    Implementation

    • Platform Development: Built the solution from scratch using AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Redshift, and SageMaker.
    • ML Model Integration: Trained and deployed clustering algorithms for outbreak detection and hotspot mapping.
    • Data Governance: Established compliance frameworks for secure and ethical health data use.
    • Stakeholder Onboarding: Provided training and dashboards tailored to different government departments.
    • Iterative Scaling: Gradually added features for broader disease surveillance beyond Covid-19.

    Result

    • Adoption: Used by 50+ stakeholders for coordinated pandemic response.
    • Versatility: Extended to cover other infectious diseases such as influenza and dengue.
    • Impact: Became the government’s central infrastructure for health crisis data management, improving responsiveness and transparency.

    Conclusion

The Covid Data Collaboration Platform transformed the government’s ability to manage health crises by unifying data, enabling real-time analytics, and embedding AI-driven insights into decision-making processes. Its scalability and adaptability ensured relevance beyond the pandemic, positioning it as a long-term asset for public health resilience.
